Melupakan Semua Hal Buruk Dengan Bermain Scrabble

Hi, guys... Beberapa hari terakhir ini, aku lagi stress dan depresi degan magang. Masa angkatan kami jadi kelinci percobaan dengan segala ketidaksiapan ini? Apalagi dengan terlalu banyak mahasiswa dalam satu sekolah makin membuat magang ini menjadi tidak efektif!

Dari awal muncul sosialisasi dan pembekalan magang, i thought it would not be good. Jadwal magang di sekolah mitra saja tanggal keluarnya serba DADAKAN. Hari ini di umumkan, besok magang. Ada jadwal besok pagi, eh ternyata di undur siang karena sekolah mitra baru diberitahu pas paginya itu. Astagfirullah....

Pada awalnya, katanya sih kalau magang, kuliah diliburkan. Tapi sepertinya para dosen tidak diberitahu sepenuhnya, apalagi ketika kuliah diliburkan bagaimana dengan pelajaran yang kami (yang sedang magang) tinggalkan? Will it be make up class?? Can you guarantee us?? Noooooooooo!! That's terrible T-T ... Nah sekarang setelah sudah entah berapa banyak mahasiswa yang sudah magang. Tiba-tiba (lagi-lagi secara mendadak) kami diberi format surat izin yang nanti diisi sendiri dan minta stempel sendiri. Coba bayangkan mahasiswa yang sudah magang, sekolah yang mulai dari pagi sampai sore! Kapan bisa ngurus surat menyurat itu???????? Nitip? Halaaaahhhh... Jadi, di urus setelah selesai magang??

Guys, jangan lupa kalau banyak lampiran di buku pedoman yang harus kita lampirkan. Contoh penilaian pembekalan nanti di isi oleh Tim kerja, nah besok saja ada mahasiswa yang oleh sekolah sudah disuruh untuk mengumpulkan laporan, bagaimana kelanjutannya??!! Mau berkilah itu kan untuk sekolah, nanti lampiran dilengkapi saat dikumpul untuk kampus? atau bagaimana? Bukankah pada awalnya dikumpul paling lambat seminggu setelah magang? Begitu pula dengan lampiran-lampiran lainnya seperti lembar pemberian tugas, lembar laporan harian, dimana? cetak sendiri?

Guru-guru sekolah (sekolah saya tentunya) seraya berkata mengapa ada magang di hari-hari seperti ini? Anak-anak ini sudah mau UKK (Ulangan Kenaikan Kelas), kita (para guru) juga sambil mempersiapkan segala hal ihwal mengenai UKK ini. hufffttt....

Loh Loh Loh..... Curhat panjang ya.... melupkan kesakitan itu semua, akhirnya hari minggu ini saya bermain scrabble dengan seorang teman saya, sebut saja dia Reo yang secara kebetulan saya bertemu dia saat selesai rapat dengan anggota humas saya di depan perpustakaan kampus.

I did really appreciate him for accompany me playing scrabble until the end for 3 rounds. I thank him so much.We also ate a snack, well seadanya aja. Hehehe

A university life

In large universities elementary science courses are often taught by groups of staff members instead of by individual professors. Each series of lectures is presented by a different lecturer. The lecturers are chosen according to the areas of a field in which they have done research. The lecturers are presented in large auditoriums, and they are often attended by as many as 200 students.

In addition to listening to lectures, the students are required to attend quiz sections which are supervised by assistants. In the quiz sections the lectures are discussed and text readings are assigned. Quizzes are given regularly once a week, and the quiz grades are recorded and averaged at the end of the semester. Most foreign students aren’t used to taking weekly quizzes and they don’t like this system at first. Once they get used to it they like it because they find that it helps them keep up to date in their assignments.

Laboratory experience is also provided for in these elementary science courses. Each student must complete certain prescribed experiments, some of which require complicated equipment which must be set up by a lab assistant. Sometimes two students working on the same experiment check each other’s results. This practice is advantageous as long as each student does his best and has confidence in his own ability. It is unprofitable when one fellow perpetually depends on the other for the right answer.

Besides lectures, quizzes, and laboratory experiments, science students make oral reports on assigned research projects. For instance, when Bill took biology he was assigned a project concerning the reproductive cycle of the pine. Before he started his research, however, he found out that another fellow in his class had been assigned the same project. He thought at first that they would be able to work together but, unfortunately for Bill, the mistake was discovered, and Bill was given another project.

After the announcement of the opening of the registration for those who are going to make a pilgrimage to Mecca, people are talking about it. Hasan, Farid, Hamid, and Ghozali are talking about it during their dinner at the Restaurant “Cairo” in Jakarta.

Hasan                    : Farid, where are you going tomorrow?

Farid          : I am going to the bank to know how much will remain of my deposit, if I draw Rp50.000.000,00 from the bank.

Hasan       : what are you going to do with such amount of money?

Farid          : if I am sure I have enough money left, my wife and I will go on pilgrimage to Mecca next year.

Hasan       : oh, how lucky you are! I hope God will bless you with your good intention. If I were rich like you, I would do the same thing, but I am not that lucky as you are. What about you Hamid?

Hamid       : I am just government employee. I don’t have much money. If I had a lot of money, I would also go and register. I wonder about Ghozali. You have not gone on a pilgrimage, have you?

Too little, too late

This morning at five o’clock, the Green Mountain restaurant caught on fire. Nobody noticed the fire until six o’clock, when the house next door started to burn. The firefighters are working hard, but the haven’t brought the blaze under control yet. Every few minutes they call for more help.

Fire Chief Brown says that in another hour they will have put out the fire in the house. At that time, the house will have been burning for three hours. Half the house will be gone. Chief Brown is afraid that the fire in the restaurant may go on until ten o’clock. Before it is out, the restaurant will have been blazing for five hours. Every few minutes, part of the building falls in.

Firefighters will have been fighting the fire in the restaurant for three hours. They will have been pumping water out of Green Mountain Lake to put out the fire. They will have been holding their hoses on the fire the whole time. However, the fire will have been burning too long. By the time the fire is under control, nothing will remain of the restaurant.
